Deborah Kelly is a trained journalist currently reporting for the Longmont Leader and is the New Product Showcase Editor and Copy Editor for Hobby Merchandiser. Additionally, she is the Content Coordinator for Garden of the Gods Friends and Neighbors, is a freelance writer for The Longmont Leader and Waggle Family Magazine, and does freelance work on a variety of editing, content marketing writing, and layout/design projects. She has her own business, Elegant Expressions Creative Services.
Kelly received her M.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Colorado-Boulder in 2008. She worked at her college newspaper, the Northeastern Illinois University Independent, from February 2005 to May 2006. In 2007, she was accepted into the prestigious Colorado Press Association Internship and Scholarship program and interned at the Palisade Tribune in Palisade, CO. Kelly had many duties there, including writing, layout, photojournalism, and some copy editing. She also created a visitors guide that summer.
